Topic: Morbidity and Mortality Rounds -and- Pharmacy Roundtable Discussion
One of the oldest traditions of the Academy is Morbidity and Mortality Rounds. When we get together with our colleagues to discuss our triumphs and losses, much is learned by all. In the past, we’ve tried to steer the conversation by suggesting a theme for the cases to discuss. This time, we invite you to come ready to discuss any of your best (or worst!) cases , whether it is something you are proud to have been involved in or something you struggled with. No topic is off limits!
In addition, Tom Magnifico is one of our members and a local compounding pharmacist who specializes in compounding veterinary drugs. In February, Tom and his technician Adam King will be presenting at the Michigan Pharmacists Association conference about veterinary medicine and drugs, and the unique uses and challenges we face in veterinary medicine.
Tom and Adam are seeking our input to help refine their discussion and presentation to the pharmacists in Michigan. They want to hear what you think is important for pharmacists to know about the everyday practice of veterinary medicine. This is your opportunity, if you’ve ever had a less-than-satisfactory experience with a human pharmacy or pharmacist, to help to educate them about why our patients are different than their usual human patients.
We hope this will be a lively and interesting discussion, and hope to see you there!
